Senior trip.

This week the whole entire Senior syndicate went to the pools for a whole day. I did a flip of the second diving Board, its freaky but fun.At the beginning I was nervous.

Athletics

Last week the senior & middle syndicate did athletics. I almost made it into the inter-schools for 200meter sprints. Today the middle & senior syndicate went on a bus to the inter-schools.

Swim safe

This week on 2012 all week room 13 is going to be taught how to be safe in water. We walked down 3 streets to get to water world. When we get there we get changed into our togs. Then we walk down to were our teachers.Then we hopped out get changed and walk back to school and have lunch.

paddock to palate.

This term the seniors are doing our topic on paddock to palate. We are looking up what things are made with diary. We are also making butter and ice-cream today they both have diary. We also have fire Nikki.

room13 assembly

This week we are having an assembly.  I don't like standing on the stage with everyone watching me.  We are having it this Friday,I'm nervous.  Last week we had school production and this week room13 assembly.  I don't like performing but I know that the more I do the better I'll get.

boggarts

In English folklore, a boggart is a household spirit which causes mischief and things to disappear like milk and dogs to go lame. Always, the boggart will follow its family wherever they flee. In Northern England, at least, there was the belief that the boggart should never be named, for when the boggart was given a name, it would not be reasoned with nor persuaded, but would become uncontrollable and destructive.

It is said that the boggart crawls into people's beds at night and puts a clammy hand on their faces. Sometimes he strips the bedsheets off them. Hanging a horseshoe on the door of a house and leaving a pile of salt outside your bedroom are said to keep a boggart away.

In the folklore of North-West England, boggarts live under bridges on dangerous sharp bends on roads as well as in chimneys. The Scottish variant is the bogle.

(I'm in Batten.)Today we were having a wheels day but one sad thing was it was postponed until next Term. This Term we made a ship in a bottle. I made 8 boats and one like Kupe's ship.

Mihi.

We are learning how to do mihi's in room 13.  We had to transport it from our home learning book to a sheet what we glued in our learning log.

Techsperx's trip to Water World and the Museum.

On Thursday the 18 of May 2012 Vardon techsperx's met the geeks from Te puke primary school at the Museum at 11:45.Then we introduced our name. then we did how to make a  monster.One group went and made a movie frame by frame and the other did facts on how monsters are made. Then we swapped over. Then we went to Vardon school and Te Puke dropped of their luggage in the staff room. Then we went to Water World and went down the twisting, twirling hydro slide and afterwards into the big pool. The pool was ice cold. The hydro slide was warmer than the ice cold pool. Next, it was back to Vardon School where we made our beds for the night.Then we played on the i-pads and i-pods we made a movie after that with our monsters in the library me, Dylan,Liam and Elih in our group. Then we had hamburgers for dinner i had one and a half for dinner. "Yum!" Then we watched Monsters vs Aliens. I fell asleep. After the movie we had a Milo and a Cookie for supper. Then we went to bed. Shhhh.  In the morning we woke up and packed everything up then had breakfast. "Weet-bix or toast?" I had toast. Next we had to finish our monster movies. After that we went into the I.C.T room for 3hours and 30minutes. Then we had a awesome shared lunch the best was............making friends with Elih and Liam.

Kupe is a great legend that discovered New Zealand in a out rigger canoe.  He sailed across huge waves bashing on the side of the out rigger canoe.

Book fair.

The 8-10 of may Vardon School is having a book fair in the library. I am buying a book. You can buy books,posters,pens,pencils and erasers. It is awesome. I walked in and said..... I want to buy the library but its too expensive.

Soccer

I am in soccer this year. I'm in 9th grade with 7 boys 2 girls and Craig. The name of our soccer team is called the Wizards. We lost the grading game 7 - 0. I almost broke my leg by being defence saving 3 goals. Find out more by visiting Toby room 13.
